I got some great news. I responded a few days ago to a casting to be the MUA for this photographer name Joey Quintero aka fotoquintero. I just got an email back from him about an hour ago saying that I was chosen as the MUA for the shoot this saturday actually his words were out of everyone that responded to the casting “your the best”…awww…Im really siked because I really love his work and its the direction that I would like to take my makeup portfolio. Joey is a New York based photographer who specializes in Fashion, Editorial and Commercial work…Im hoping that it goes very, very well on Saturday because I would love to build a working relationship with him…Here is a link to his work http://www.fotoquintero.com
Oh but whats gonna suck is the fact that I have an event on Long Island on Friday night and won’t be done until 4am…the shoot with Joey is at 9am…so I have to make my way back to the city…get ready and then head right back out….oh man im gonna suffer that day….I just got tired thinking about it…
Today I had a shoot where I was the Makeup Artist but it was canceled last minute and I’m a little pissed…Ok, so this model contacted me a while back to do a TFP shoot with her but it was too short of a notice. The funny thing is that when I had to do my test for my makeup certification, she was one of the models that the school booked. I couldn’t work with her then either because I had already reserve the models that I wanted to work with (and because the school’s director was being an ass…he said that I was working too fast and even though he had originally said that we can shoot as many models as we want…the day of he changed his mind and said that I had to do the same as everyone else…wtf??) Anywho..so this model hit me up again and after playing email tag with her for a week, we decided that we would shoot today with a photog here in the city. Because of the specific looks that the model wanted to shoot, I had to go out and buy additional supplies..$120 worth!!!. Oh and I forgot to mention that I waived my $50 kit fee…well, I woke up at 7am (mind you I canceled all my plans today and last night for this shoot) and just as soon as I was about to jump in the shower I receive a text from the model saying that she missed her bus and that she lives 3 hours away so she needs to reschedule. Now, as a professional model…trust me…I know shit happens. What sucks is the fact that I spent so much money (ya’ll know we in a recession) and canceled all my plans for this shoot…I would shoot with the model again because I think she’s absolutely gorgeous but next time I’m either gonna charge her my full rate or at least a kit fee…in advance and nonrefundable…it sucks bc like I said I am a model so I know that things happen but also being a person working behind the scenes…you view things a lot differently. I now definitely know how photographers feel when their models cancel. I always hear my photog friends gripe about it but now I REALLY understand…nothing we do is free…even if its a TFP…we (the teams of MUA, stylists, photogs…even some models)…invest a lot of time and money in our craft…something that I don’t think a lot of models/people understand because it may just seem like “oh its just a tfp shoot”…but that tfp shoot cost us money..and now im out $120 
Im such a bum today lol…I suppose to be doing the City Chick updates today but instead ive been laying in bed all day watching the History and Sci Fi Channels…Imma get it together as soon as I run next door to get a red bull…the problem is getting out of bed to do it…Anyways, I just received a pic from my last makeup shoot and its absolutely fabulous…I posted a before and after pic so that you guys can see the extensive amount of work that I put into this look. The easiest part was erasing the models eyebrows and drawing some really high ones on…the hard part? That damn glitter!!! It was EVERYWHERE…that was an absolute nightmare but the results were worth it…

Yesterday I caught Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and I must honestly say that was the best movie that Ive seen in a very long time. Yes I will admit it, even though I did want to see it..I did have my doubts. But as soon as it started I knew that I was gonna love it. It was hysterically funny, smart, clever…it was just great. Here is a brief synopsis:
Nick (Michael Cera), the only straight band member of “The Jerk Offs” has recently been dumped by his hot girlfriend, Tris (Alexis Dziena). Nick believes that he can win her back by sending her special songs on CDs that he has mixed just for her. Nick has sent her about 10 CDs, but Tris only throws them in the trash. However, Tris’ friend, Norah (Kat Dennings), has retrieved most of them, and she loves them. Norah has never met Nick, but the music he loves touches her heart. Norah and her friend Caroline are at a nightclub where “The Jerk Offs” are playing, and Norah is attracted to Nick while he is playing his guitar. Tris shows up at the same club with her new boyfriend. Norah doesn’t want Tris to think that she is dateless, so she asks Nick to pretend to be her boyfriend for 5 minutes and gives him a big kiss. Then Tris tells Norah that Nick is her ex-boyfriend. Now that Norah has Nick, the heartless Tris decides that she now wants him back. A night of searching for the band “Where’s Fluffy” will end up with one of these girls winning Nick’s love.
This movie was utterly fabulous and worth every penny of the $12.50 those thieves at the Regal Battery Park are charging. So if you get the chance…Please check it out!!! You will be so glad u did..
This past Thursday (the 25th)…City Chick Magazine co hosted a champagne and shopping soiree with Kathlin Argiro, Real Pilates and Arbonne. It was nice but unfortunately alot of my friends didn’t come out because I didn’t promote it like I should have. Anyways, after the event a couple of us went to dinner at Applebees and that was great times…first, everything was on point..the drinks, food, company but the entertainment for the night was the best. While sitting down waiting for our food on the first floor, this young guy ran like usain bolt down the stairs and through the door…the next thing we knew he was grabbed by a half a dozen men and pulled back into the restaurant (he was trying to skip on the bill)…then the cops came and hand cuff the guy (while his friend watch) and grabbed him back out the door. The man, who was resisting the entire time, proceeded to start dancing (to no music) in front of the restaurant while the tourists started taking pictures (oh this was Times Square so you know it became a scene). We were at our table dying, lol!!! It was the most random, funny ish that Ive seen all week…I wish we got that on tape but I think we were all scared of getting arrested too lol…That was fun!!!!

My site (actually the server) crashed early this morning and we lost everything on the site…post, comments, pics, everything! Thankfully Chuck was able to recover the design and my last 10 posts…but if you are looking at the site and wondering where everything went…that’s what happened
Ok, this story sounds crazy but its true! My girl Xaviera works as a travel agent for American Express Travel (I use to work with her a few years back) and she told me a few days ago that her co worker told her that she had a pet snake. She loved the snake so much that she even slept with it (like I do with Kimmy, my Yorkie-Pom). She said that for the last 2 weeks that the snake wasn’t eating so she started getting scared and took it to the vet on Monday. The vet asked her some simple questions and then asked her where she keeps the snake. She told him where she keeps the snake and also told him that the snake sleeps with her and the vet started looking at her weird (duh!, lol)…he then asked her if, when the snake sleeps, if its curled up or if it sleeps straight. Her coworker said that the snake has been sleeping straight. The vet said that he had to kill the snake right away and would not let her good home with it. She was like wtf??? The vet said that the reason why the snake wasn’t eating for the past 2 weeks was because he was clearing out his stomach so that he would have room when he ate HER! He said that was the reason why the snake was sleeping straight (snakes always sleep curled)…was because the snake was sizing her up! The vet said that he had to kill it and she couldn’t take it home bc once the snake saw her as food, he will always see her as food and his whole mission in life will be to eat her!! isnt that some shit? LOL…first off, why is she sleeping with a damn snake? Xaviera told me that her coworker was a wreck because she had this snake since it was a baby and they had to have him put down that same day…wow…im making sure Kimmy is never hungry a day in her life, lol..
