So ive been in my new apt now for a few days and I absolutely love it…its everything that I thought it would be and so much more. This is def an amazing neighborhood (the Financial District) in that it is really quite (for the city) and the best thing? I have a 24 hour deli/diner next door…what more can a girl ask for? oh maybe all the clothing stores to feed my addiction, lol. My apt is also wonderful and I will put up some pics here once I get all the boxes out the way…

Even though I love my new home, the move here was a nightmare…the movers got lost (mind u I moved only 25 mins away from where I was originally living…and instead of the hour, maybe 2 that it should have taken them (they had to pick me up from Ikea) it took over 3 hrs!!!! Then once I got here, my bed had to be built and so did my 3 wardrobes…I finished unpacking a bit at 3:30 am (I got here at 1030pm) and even now I still have 2 huge boxes left…but I will take care of those soon…besides that…everything is great!

So tonight was the Champagne and Shopping Soiree at Kathlin Argiro’s showroom and I had so much fun (and apparently so did everyone else, lol)…I was very nervous about this event because I was not sure about the turn-out but I as soon as I got there I realized that I had nothing to worry about. It was a really nice turn-out!!! What was so cool was that everyone was laughing, drinking and mingling…which is the whole point of these monthly events. The highlight for me though was when Kathlin basically dressed me in front of everyone…That was really, really cool….oh and by the way, Kathlin is DIVINE!!! She was so funny, warm and was very, very accommodating to us (oh and you know I came home with 2 dresses, lol!!!!) We also got to interview her so as soon as I get the video, I will post it here. Back in January, I had a shoot for this clothing company called Tally Taylor. They are a clothing manufacturer located in the heart of the Garment District. The catalog is not out yet but I just found 2 pics of myself from that shoot on their website www.tallytaylor.com…I think these are so cute…I love doing work like this.

On Friday I had a shoot for a new novel called “Playing Dirty” by Essence Magazine best-selling author, Kiki Swinson…The novel is about a lawyer (who I portray on the cover) who is a partner is her law firm who promised to get this mafia guy off for murder but didn’t- and now she has to face the consequences. The shoot was done by photographer George Kerrigan and a team of Makeup Artist, Stylists, Assistants and an Art Director. It was pretty cool because my hair, makeup and wardrobe were all fabulous…plus they were all making a big fuss about me and I always love that, lol…The book will be on stands next March but I will post the cover here as soon as I get it…

On the day that Sex and The City came out…me and the girls made a big deal out of it…We caught an early movie…then did drinks (cosmos of course) and dinner in the city. Here is my review of the movie (which Ive seen a few times that I posted on City Chick:

Sex and the City

The shoes, the clothes, the girls!!! After waiting an agonizing 4 years, 3 months and 8 days, the movie that started numerous trends (um, did anyone really drank Cosmos before Carrie and her girlfriends?) and revolutionized the way women across the country viewed relationships, fashion and sex…finally hit theaters on Friday, May 30th. Sex and the City, which grossed an astonishing $56 million dollars in its opening weekend, is a must see for any true fan of the show.

The movie, which started 4 years after the last episode (which aired Feb. 8th 2004), following the lives of our 4 favorite City Chicks Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as they deal with life, love, and heartbreak; all while running around New York City looking absolutely stunning in stilettos and designer clothes.

Without giving away too much, here is what happens. The movie picks up pace rather quickly as Big (Christopher Noth) and Carrie are set to be married after dating for 10 years. This would seem to be the perfect ending for everyone’s favorite couple but true to Carrie’s and Big’s relationship history, something horrible happens. Ok, I’ve already said too much about that situation. Then there is Miranda and Steve (David Eigenberg) who have a few issues to work out, as well as Samantha dealing with her life adjustments in California with her boyfriend Smith (Jason Lewis). And then there is the lovable Charlotte….who manage to get everything that her heart has ever desired.

I’ll be the first to admit that my friends and I are some of the biggest Sex and the City fans ever but even I was surprised at how great this movie was (so much so that I’ve already seen it several times and it has only been in theaters 5 days!). First and foremost, the performances were so great (even better than they were on the show). I laughed a lot but cried even more. The movie is so entertaining that there was never a moment when I wanted to take my eye off the screen. I think that the movie was 10 times better than the show in everything…humor, fashion, drama…so even if you just like the show, I guarantee that you will love this movie and I highly recommend that you go and see it…and least twice! You will not be disappointed.

As promised!!!!

I just got home about an hour ago and Im finally checking up on all the work that Ive been neglecting for the pass 6 days. I had such a wonderful time in MIA…I didnt party hard or got my groove on, lol…on the contrary, I rested…for 6 days I ate, slept and hit the beach…my idea of a great time. This is the first time Ive ever been on a vacation that I didnt do any work on. I hardly answered my phone, didnt answer my emails and did absolutely nothing but relaxed. I also got to hang out with my aunt, uncle and 2 lil cousins while I was there…something I havent done in a while…well, back to the grind…

I just got to Miami this morning on a mini vaca. Im down here for a week to get a lil R&R because its Memorial Day Weekend and I have not been out of the state since February. So I flew down on South West on a 630am flight and it was one of the worst experience that Ive ever had on this airline. Ive traveled on every airline…Delta, Continental, American, etc etc but Ive flew South West a few times before because their tickets are very reasonable and Ive never had an issue with them. Well there is always a first time for everything. Because I booked my flight last week, I was one of the last people to board. As some of you might know, on South West, seating is on a first come, first serve basis. So of course being one of the last people to book, I was also one of the last to board. After boarding the over crowded plane, I found an empty row…right next to the bathroom. I sat down and immediately 2 other people came right behind me and sat down besides me. The entire time they were talking loudly and moving around in their seats…and as some of you might also know…if you are Claustrophobic like me, being in the last row, of a crowded plane in a tight seat with too over energenic people is not the right move…anyways I was up the entire night before my flight because for some reason I can never sleep before a flight so I tried desperately to get some sleep on the plane. After a while I fell asleep and didn’t wake up until the plane landed really hard and I bumped my head on the window, lol…to make matters worst, my right ear popped and I thought that my eardrum burst and I was now temporarily deaf…I was thinking that this was a great way to start a vacation! But for some reason, as soon as I got my luggage and walked out of the airport…I felt a million times better and forgot how crappy the plane ride was. I don’t know…something about the warm weather and knowing that in a few mins I’ll be in a warm bed and laying on the beach drinking cosmos for a few days has a way of making a girl forget that she had the worst plane ride ever!
